St. Patrick’s Day Lunch Idea for Kids
My sister and I got together the other day, and we decided it would be fun to make a themed lunch for our kids. Since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, we thought it would be the perfect theme. In case you’re looking for a healthy and fun way to celebrate the upcoming holiday, here is our easy St. Patrick’s Day lunch idea for kids that they are sure to love!
We started with fruit. It is colorful and delicious, plus, kids love it. We wanted to create a rainbow and had most of the fruits already on hand, so win win! The basic idea is to use the fruits to create a rainbow, and then finish off with banana clouds.
The next thing we did was create some green foods to go with the rainbow. Using Spinach tortillas, pesto, and cheese, we created green pizzas that were a big hit! They are so fast and easy to make too. All you do is put the pesto sauce (any brand will do) on the tortilla, top with cheese and then broil it in the oven for a couple of minutes. As soon as the edges of the tortilla are brown, the cheese is melted and starting to brown, you’re pizza will be ready!
Of course, serving the lunch on green paper plates is optional, but it certainly adds to the fun. So do the napkins! Try it out and let me know how it goes! Enjoy!
