Flat Iron Curls

Here we are again friends with another frequently requested style; flat iron curls. I personally, have not used a curling iron for several years. I love the way the you can change the size, tightmess, and looks of the curls all by using the tool, just changing the amount of hair you use in each section. I do it on myself all the time, and it takes me less than 15 minutes to get my hair feeling like I could rock the Victoria Secret fashion show, and within 5 minutes my little girls hair looks too cute and perfect for the day.

Part the hair at the ears horizontally and clip the top section out of the way. I like to spray the hair with a little hairspray before and after I curl it, just to make sure it stays. Grab a piece of hair about an inch and a half in size (here is where it is all about what you want-smaller sections equal tighter curls, bigger sections, bigger curls) and starting at the scalp, grip the hair in the flat iron. Turn the flat iron one half turn away from the face. Drag down the hair. If you want tighter curls, here is another place you can change it up. If you turn the flat iron continuously while dragging down the hair, the curls will be tighter. Take another piece of hair, starting at the root, turn the flat iron half a turn away from the face, and drag down. I keep the flat iron turned away from the face, because I do not like having hair in my face, and I like the uniform look that is gives. When you have finished curling the hair, you can either leave it, or comb through the hair with your fingers to give it a bit of the softer, messier look.

It will take some practice. It might be easier to do it at first on your littles, or a friend, or a Barbie if you want, but don’t give up. Keep trying, and before you know it, you will have it down and be feeling like you can rock the runway with your amazing curls!
