Hello Friends! I am so excited to be here! My name is Heather, and I will be here once a week to share some simple, fun little girl hair styles with you. Let me share a little bit about myself before we get started. I have been married to the most fantastic guy ever, for 10 amazing years. He just finished up his bachelors degree in Speech Communication and will start his Masters program this year. It is so nice to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel for school!  I am a mom of 3 crazy kiddos. My oldest is a boy and my other two are girls. I have been a hair dresser for over ten years. I love doing hair. I am blessed to have a 3 year old who loves to sit in my chair and let me play and style her hair in all sorts of different ways. I LOVE to read! I am a total geek at heart. Harry Potter, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Doctor Who, I am a total fan girl. Haha!! Well, thats probably enough about me, so, lets get down to business!!! (And defeat….the Huns! I may be a Disney nerd too…haha!)

fancy pigtails

First style up, I thought we would do something fairly simple that is pretty much a “go-to” in our house. My little Kaeli Mae loves to have pig tails with braids. So, thats where we will start. Although for sake of a name, lets call them “Fancy PigTails”.
Fancy pigtail tutorial

I start with parting the hair in the middle. Then diagonally part from the center to the temple. Take that chunk and do a simple braid. Repeat that on the other side. After that, just part in the center to the neck and pull hair into two pigtails. I then wrap the braid around the elastic. and secure with another elastic. Add bows or ribbon if you desire, my little one always wants bows, so it’s not an option here. HA! After I have finished the pig tails I like to curl the ends with my flat iron just to add a little “cutesyness” (not a word? Well I made it up then!)Its a super super simple update to the basic pigtails that is a staple in our home. Here’s a quick video showing you exactly how I did the hairdo. See you next week!
