Ugly Sweater Accessories

When you think ugly sweater party, the outfits are probably the first thing to come to mind. As I started putting together my ugly sweater outfit, it seemed that it was just missing something. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until one day, BAM, it hit me. I needed accessories. Not just any accessories, mind you, specifically ugly sweater accessories. Let me show you how I made the easiest tacky necklace ever!

I started with some cord and mini light bulb ornaments that I picked up from Michaels. I cut the cord to be longer than I needed since I would be knotting it, and then got to work.

Next, I strung a light ornament onto the cord, tied a knot, then added another light ornament (and repeated) until I had enough for my necklace.

It added the perfect amount of tacky to my outfit! As a perk, I also added a Christmas tree headband, and some Christmas bow earrings to complete the ensemble. To say that I was pleased with myself would be an understatement. Every time I wear the sweater,  I can’t help but giggle because of how ridiculous I look. (yes, that means I have worn this more than once. HA! I mostly like to wear it to surprise my husband and make him laugh since it is so unlike anything I would ever actually wear.)
