Peanut Butter Spider Cookies
I love a good peanut butter cookie, and have been searching for a good recipe for a while now. The last time I tried to make them, they were pretty much inedible. No, really. They were so dry that it took a glass of milk to swallow a bite. I needed to find the softest, fluffiest, and most delicious peanut butter cookie recipe, and I am excited to say that it is here! Since Halloween is coming up, I thought it would be fun to make them spooky, so I made peanut butter spider cookies! They are so simple, and my sister and I had fun making them together.
The secret recipe? It’s located on the back of the Hershey’s kisses bag!!! Duh! Why didn’t I think of it sooner. Of COURSE the best recipe for making peanut butter kiss cookies would be on the back of the bag. I did alter it slightly, though, so I will post the recipe down below along with the instructions for making the cookie.
Once your cookies are done baking, you will need to push the Hershey’s kiss into the cookie immediately. You will definitely want the kisses to be unwrapped before you take the cookies out of the oven. To make the spider, flip it over and press it into the cookie sideways. Then, after it has been sitting for a bit and the kiss is starting to soften, press some candy eyes into the chocolate. I linked to the Wilton candy eyes that I used. They are the perfect size!
After all of the eyeballs are on the cookies, you will want to melt some chocolate chips to make the spider legs. I stuck about a cup of chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and melted them at 25 second intervals until it was a nice creamy consistency. Then I spooned it into a ziplock bag, clipped an end, and then piped it onto the cookies to create the legs.
My kids and my nieces all went crazy for these. They were so easy to put together, and delicious too! Try them out today!
