It’s my favorite time of year! I love fall and everything that it brings with it. There is something about the season that rekindles my creativity and makes me feel alive again! I wanted to do some projects with my girls to help them feel the excitement too, and I thought that maybe you would be interested in a bunch of kids craft ideas so that you can try them out with your own kids. First up, we tried out a pumpkin kids craft that is so simple, but a lot of fun!

To do this project, you’ll need:

pumpkin craft

This is such an easy project, and it is definitely made easier by using a machine to cut out the shapes, but it is not required. First, cut out a pumpkin shape and some fun jack o lantern faces. Then give all of the pieces to your kids because they can do the rest from here on out. (or you can even have them cut out the shapes!)

Glue the pumpkin to the brown piece of paper using the elmers glue stick. I personally like the kind of glue that goes on purple and dries clear because it is easiest for my younger daughter to use and know where the glue is on the paper.

Next, paint the palm of the child and press onto the pumpkin so that it looks like a leaf. You can do multiple leaves if you would like, we just went with one for simplicity sake. I always have baby wipes handy in my craft room, and it was perfect for getting the paint off of my daughter’s hand quickly and thoroughly.

The last step is to add a spooky face (or a not so spooky face) to the pumpkin! Ta-da! It is a fun way to document the size of your children’s hands, and they will have a blast making it with you.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another Halloween kids craft idea. We have some fun ones in store for you!
