Sugar Cookie Recipe

My mom is the best cook I know. Seriously. Anyone that knows her knows that I am telling the truth. She is constantly asked for her delicious recipes and sometimes she shares the secrets. Today is your lucky day. She agreed to share her sugar cookie recipe with us! I got a phone call from her saying “I am making the sugar cookies you were asking about, so you might want to come over and take pictures.” That was all I needed to hear! I put my kids in the car and headed over.

These sugar cookies are so light, fluffy and SO dang GOOD! She started by making the dough and then using a cookie scoop to put them on the cookie sheet. Next, she used a bowl full of sugar and a cup, sprayed the bottom of the cup with Pam cooking spray, dipped the bottom of the cup into the sugar and then pressed the cookies. This gives the top of the cookie a light covering of sugar and makes it so that you don’t have to roll out the cookie dough all at the same time! So easy!

After you get them pressed and baked, make the frosting and add a couple of drops of red food coloring to get that pretty pink color. Add sprinkles and you are done! Eat those babies and thank my mom for sharing the recipe! (Hopefully I can talk her into sharing more over here!)
