Mummy Hot Dogs 2

I am continuing my Halloween themed healthy lunches today with an oldie but a goodie, Mummy Hot Dogs!  (Oh, and before I forget, if you are loving the Rubbermaid Lunchblox containers that I have been using, be sure to go enter to win one of 8!  Head over to the Intermountain Live Well Facebook page to enter now!) When we were planning the meals that we would want to add to our week, my daughter asked if we could please try this one out and both of my girls gave it two thumbs up.

To make the mummy, you will need hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and some spooky candy eyes.  I preheated the oven to 375 degrees and then started putting the mummies together.  I found the easiest way to make the mummy wraps was to use my pizza cutter to cut strips and then I wrapped them around the hot dog one at a time until it was covered up.

Place the wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased cookie sheet and then bake for 9-11 minutes.  Once they are slightly cooled, add the spooky eyes for added effect.  Serve the mummies with a side of ketchup and some fresh fruits and veggies and you are good to go!

We will definitely be making these again sometime.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another Halloween lunch idea!
