Patriotic Banner Tutorial
When I originally made my Command Center, it was the beginning of the summer. I know, I know. Why has it taken me so long to post about it?! Well, I have plenty of reasons or excuses, but instead of giving them to you, I am going to give you a patriotic banner tutorial. I thought it would be fun to hang banners on my command center and change them with the holidays. I am SO SO excited to show you the one I have for back to school and my Halloween one is going to be my favorite. I can already tell even if I haven’t made it yet. 🙂 Anyway, I promise to show them to you before the actual holiday this time, which means the back to school one is coming up quick.
Supplies needed:
- Chevron ribbon
- Burlap
- Denim
- White paint
- Round stickers
- Rope, ribbon, or string of some kind
- Hot glue
To get started, I cut the ribbon into rectangles so that I could fold it over the rope of the banner. I then drew a star and cut it out of the denim to create my blue stars. This whole banner is “no sew” which means I used hot glue to attach everything. So easy!
Creating the burlap pennants was really easy as well. I folded the burlap in half and cut out a pennant shape. Then I placed the circle stickers on the burlap and painted the white paint over the top of the stickers. I only did it on the front half of the pennant though, since the back wouldn’t ever be seen. I removed the stickers and was left with a cute polka dot pennant.
Now I attached the rectangles and pennants to the rope by folding them over the top and securing with hot glue. Make sure to place them every other one to get the pattern going. Keep adding them until you get to your desired length and then you’re done! Ta-da! So easy and SO cute! I put mine along the top of my command center and love it!
