Winter Wonderland Party | Waffle Bar
There are just some days that you need a reason to celebrate with some of your friends. Last week, I had one of those moments where I just needed to have fun for the sake of having fun. There wasn’t any birthday or special occasion. It was all about just putting together a simple party and enjoying the company of friends. Jesseca from One Sweet Appetite, Shannon from Lucky Blogs and I put our heads together and came up with a simple, inexpensive Winter Wonderland Party complete with waffle bar. It was exactly what I needed!
Using a winter theme, this party came together really quickly! Tillamook was kind enough to sponsor our party and sent over a bunch of ice cream for us to use. Then the question was, what do we serve with the ice cream? The answer: WAFFLES!!! Have you ever tried ice cream and waffles? It is amazing! Jesseca made the waffles and you can find the recipes over on her blog. We had chocolate waffles and cinnamon waffles and they were equally delicious! You will want to save her recipes for later. Also, can we talk about the amazing fluffy gold garland that was hanging in the front of the table?! Shannon suggested that we add gold to the table and it was the PERFECT finishing touch! (thanks Shannon)
We had all sorts of toppings and flavors of ice cream that the combinations were limitless! It was the perfect treat to have, even on a cold winter day. The warm waffles with the cold ice cream just works out perfectly!
If you haven’t ever tried Tillamook ice cream, you need to put it on your next shopping list. It is creamy and packed full of deliciousness. For the party, we chose to use Tillamook Fireside Smores, Caramel Toffee Crunch, and old fashioned vanilla to top our waffles. I really loved the Caramel Toffee Crunch the very most!
I am excited to show you some how to tutorials on the decorations. I put together the backdrop so quickly and inexpensively that I think you might be interested to see the how to on it. I meant to post them this week, but life happened and I didn’t get a chance to get the posts written up. I will be showing you more details about this party on Monday and Tuesday that I think you will like! Until then, go do yourself a favor and make some waffles and eat them with some delicious Tillamook ice cream. While you’re at it, try it out with Kayley’s amazing caramel recipe to drizzle over the top. You can thank me later.
I love it!!! those waffles look sooo good, I may have to go whip some up right now! And I love that backdrop. Gorgeous work, ladies!
