Valentine Goodie Bags

I have a lot of fun Valentines to share with you this week that I think you are going to LOVE!!!  I have definitely had a lot of fun coming up with them and think that my kids are going to go crazy when they get them in their Valentines Mailboxes starting in just over a week.  I thought this would be a fun one to start off with because who doesn’t love a fun Valentine Goodie Bag Idea?!  These were so simple to pull together and are perfect if you need to make just one, or if you need to make 20 for a class.

Supplies:

  • Muslin (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
  • Iron-on vinyl (Mine is from Cricut)
  • Jute Rope or some other kind of ribbon or rope to close the bags with
  • Treats to go inside the bag when completed (I used Hershey’s Kisses)

Valentine Goodie Bag Ideas

Begin by cutting out a rectangular piece of muslin.  Mine is 12″x4″.  Fold the muslin in half and sew up the two sides leaving the top open.  Turn the bag right side out and then fold the top of the bag inwards about an inch.  Sew all the way around the bag to keep the folded piece in place.  Once that is done, you will cut two small slits for the rope to go through making it a drawstring bag.  These aren’t meant to last forever, so I was ok without doing a button hole stitch to reinforce the slits.  Slide the jute through from one slit to the next and tie a knot.  Last you will use your cricut iron on vinyl and cut out some hearts to put on the front of the bag.  Cut out the hearts and then iron it on and you are good to go!

Valentine Treat Bags

Fill your bag with some treats and they are sure to be a hit!
