Race for the Cure Giveaway
Today I am going to get a little personal with you about something that I am sure has effected us all at one point in our lives. Cancer. It is something that so many people have to suffer with, and across all ages. When I was in High School, one of my very best friends was diagnosed with bone cancer. He was only 18 years old. He died at age 22. It was a devastation to me. How could someone so young be taken away just like that? It opened up my eyes to the fact that life is fragile and it could be taken at any minute. I know I became more grateful for the time that I am given to be alive and try to live my life to the fullest.
Since the passing of my friend, I have always been more on the lookout for ways that I could help those that are suffering with cancer. I hope that someday we can cure all forms of cancer, but this being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I thought it would be a good idea to spotlight a couple of companies that are willing to do some good in the world.
Layers Clothing is donating 10% of all sales from the purchase of anything pink on their site to breast cancer research during the month of October. This includes the shirt we are giving away called the classic tee, as well as the pink wide strap Cami and the Stella suit.
A Modern Boutique has a unique line of necklaces called “Tickle me Pink” that each have a hint of pink to them. Each necklace has been named after someone that is close to the owners of the boutique and have dealt with breast cancer. If you click on any of the necklaces in that line, it will tell you more about the person it was named after and why. A portion of the sale from each necklace in the “Tickle Me Pink” collection will be donated to helping find a cure for breast cancer. The necklace that will be included in our giveaway today is called the “Nancie” and is named after the owner’s grandmother Nancie who died of breast cancer at age 55.
I also have some good news for you! Layers Clothing and A Modern Boutique are being so generous and are giving away the classic pink tee and the Nancie necklace to 4 winners! That’s right! 4 people will be winning both the necklace as well as the shirt. They sent us the products to test out and I just have to say that the shirt is probably the most comfortable and soft shirt in the world and the necklace is just stunning. FYI, I am wearing the shirt in all of the pictures in this post.
To enter the giveaway is really easy. All you need to do is follow the Rafflecopter form below to earn all of your entries. We will be giving away 3 sets on the blog, and if you would like another chance to win, go check out Instagram tomorrow for a chance to win the fourth set. The giveaway will go from today and run until next Wednesday at midnight. Check back to this post next Thursday to find out if you are the lucky winner. The winner’s names will be displayed in the rafflecopter form and will be emailed. The winners will have 48 hours to respond. If we don’t hear from you, a new winner will be chosen in your place. Good Luck!
My Grandmother had several types of cancer. But I never heard her complain once!

My new Mother-In-Law was diagnosed a year and a half ago, and after going thru a double mastectomy and lots of treatments she beat it!!!
It is so sad now cancer has touched pretty much all of our lives. I unfortunately lost one of my favorite aunts and I’m watching one of my best friends moms just start a fight with cancer now 🙁
My aunt currently has breast cancer! She had a mastectomy in one side but then has a very rare kind that the cancer spreads all over her body! She just got done with kemo and hopefully won’t have to do another round! She is my true hero she is a fighter and we are all with her and support her! If I won I would honor my aunt by giving her the neckless! I love you aunt Geri! Y
When I was in Jr High a boy my age around the corner passed away after a fight with cancer. We were not close friends but it still really affected me.
