The other day, my friend Sarah Kimmel (yes, THE one and only Sarah Kimmel) from Tech 4 Mommies came and picked me up in her 2013 Honda Accord to go to lunch and test drive her car.  She wanted to show me just how awesome it is with all of its features.  I was game, and so I hopped in the drivers seat and we went on our way.

One of the first features that Sarah was showing me was the keyless start.  The car has a key fob that you keep in your pocket that makes it so that you just push the button next to the steering wheel to start the car.  I’ve seen that before, so it wasn’t anything earth shattering, but it is cool.  There is also a back up camera in the dash, but my van has that so it wasn’t anything new either.

Sarah was determined to show me something new and exciting and got to work showing me all the features.  Most of it I had seen before, so I felt kind of bad.  Almost like she was showing me these things that she thought would amaze me and I was like “yaaa, wow……I’ve seen it.”  That is, until she showed me the blind spot checker.  Holy cow, that is cool.  You turn on the blinker and the camera on your dash turns on to show you what is in your blind spot.  The other thing that I didn’t ever see before was when we got back into the car, the seat was so far forward I couldn’t get in the car very well.  Let’s just back up a second and mention that I am 5’8″ and Sarah is….well, WAY shorter then that.  The car fob that I mentioned before?  It remembers the seat position that Sarah likes and moves it back if it has changed since she drove last.  The part that I thought was cool is that her husband has one as well and the seat will change to his settings on his key fob if he is the one with it in his bag or pocket or whatever.  Totally cool!

Anyway, the car runs really smoothly and silently which is a major bonus.  Plus it had leather seats which was awesome since my daughter spilled a little on the seat and it wiped right off.  Thanks for the test drive Sarah!  And thanks to Ken Garff Honda of Orem for giving my awesome friend a car to use.  (You should give it to her more often!)
