I pin a lot of kids crafts, but I rarely do any of them.  I don’t know why.  My daughter would love to do all of them and I really should take the time to try them out more often.  Anyway, I thought that I would do a project that was geared for her today, and straw necklaces is what we finally decided to do.  (Here is the pin that I originally got this idea from.)
straw necklaces
There is nothing really to this project.  All you need is yarn, tape, and some straws. Simply cut the straws into pieces.  (I cut them about an inch and a half.)  Then I cut a piece of yarn and wrapped tape around one end to make it easier to thread the “beads” onto the yarn.

My daughter took over from there and had a blast adding more and more straws to the yarn.  Don’t you just love seeing those little hands working on projects? I know it is one of my favorite things in the whole world.

She ended up wearing the necklace all day and showed it to anyone that would talk to her when we were out doing errands.  I call that a successful project!
