Best Day Ever
To some, this picture may not mean a lot. Â But to me, it means the world. Â I have felt like I have been holding my breath for the past 6 weeks just waiting for news whether good or bad. Â 6 weeks ago, I found out I was pregnant. Â Because of my last pregnancy ending in miscarriage, we wanted to be proactive about this pregnancy and my Dr. had me get my blood tested the day after I found out I was pregnant. Â The levels came back very low. Â My progesterone should have been 20 and it was only 7. Â My HCG should have been well over 3000 and it was only 17. Â I began to hold my breath. Â I couldn’t handle another miscarriage.
I started taking progesterone every night and had to continue getting my blood drawn to monitor my HCG levels to make sure they were rising. Â Each test came back better then the last, but I was still holding my breath. Â It could go south and it could happen quickly.
At 8.5 weeks, I went in for an ultrasound because my levels were finally high enough that they thought we would be able to hear a heartbeat. Â The baby was measuring small, but we heard a heartbeat! Â I was still overly cautious, and my due date was moved back a week and a half making me only 7 weeks along.
Thursday, when I was 9 weeks 4 days pregnant, I went back in to have another ultrasound and now I feel like I can finally breathe. Â The baby is growing. Â The heartbeat is strong! Â Everything is looking so good. Â I am still taking the progesterone every night to make sure that the baby keeps growing strong, but we are feeling more and more confident that things will be ok.
I found out about a fun campaign from Elevate Promo that talked about the “Best Day Ever” and knew that I wanted to participate. Â When I initially heard about it, I was still unsure about the future of my baby. Â Life was tough, but I knew that if I could hear that heartbeat and see that baby growing and strong that I would consider that day one of the best days ever. Â Now, with the photo of that heartbeat in hand, I can definitely say it was the “Best Day Ever.”
As part of the campaign, we thought it would be fun if one of YOU were able to have a Best Day Ever shirt as well! Â These shirts are not available for purchase, they are only for this campaign. Â I should mention that I picked a size larger then I normally choose and was glad that I did. Â They are incredibly soft and well made. Â It has easily become my favorite t-shirt. Â If you would like to win, all you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form below. Â The giveaway will run until Friday April 11, and the winner will be selected and displayed on the Rafflecopter form on Saturday April 12. Â Good Luck!
SO happy for you congrats!!!
That is awesome! Congrats!
Selling our house would be the best day ever. Congratulations!
I totally understand! I miscarried at 12 weeks and when I found out I was pregnant again it has been worry and paranoia at every thing that is unusual! I am now 20 weeks and still worry but feel a lot better!
I am over the moon for you! This is such great news. I had to take progesterone with this one too, but am off it now and good at 20 weeks. I can’t wait to give you a squeeze at SNAP! My best day ever is finding out we won a trip to Disneyland last night, listening to conference this morning and now finding out this great news! Hand it over. I’ll put it on right now. 😉
I couldn’t be more happy for you. I’ve been thinking about you a ton since we talked that night, but I didn’t want to bug you. When I saw this post on Facebook I knew!! I’m so so so happy for you.
My best day ever will be signing papers on the sell of our home and moving into our new home.
Oh, Jonie!! I’m so happy for you! I’m tearing up over here! My daughter would think me holding an ultrasound pic would be the best day ever, ’cause she’s been praying for a baby brother for months! 😉
Yay! I’m so happy for you 🙂 Congrats! Hope all continues to go well!
My best day ever would include ice cream, but it’s nothing compared to yours! Congratulations!!
Babies are such a blessing, congrats!
Yay!! I’m so happy for you, John and the girls!
Congratulations, great news!!!!
I don’t know you but I’m so happy for you! I teared up a little reading this. I suffered two miscarriages before my daughter was born and they are heartbreaking for sure. Wishing you the best! As for the question, I’d have to say I can’t really think of one. I’m just happy to wake up every day and enjoy life. I try and make every day the best day ever 🙂
I love this post & the picture that goes with it. I have been through those touch & go moments in both of my pregnancies and had crazy births with them, too. I know what it feels like to hold your breath through it all. Prayers coming your & babies way!
I am so happy for you!! I have had many best days, but always on the look out for the next one!
Giving birth to my baby in May! 🙂
I am so excited for you! I love the idea of those shirts. I feel like as hard as having a newborn around is it’s kinda the best day every day after we tried so so hard to get him!
My best day ever will be the day you deliver your precious and healthy baby. I had a difficult struggle but now have a gorgeous 8 year old thanks to her birth mother. Best wishes to you. Stay positive, strong and keep believing!!!
So happy for you. I have had several best days. My three children, each 8 years apart. Yes I had troubles also. Add the births of my 7 grandkids, I said I had several. 😉
So happy for your best day ever! Been there done that; please know it can have a happy ending. My daughter just turned 10! Stay strong and keep the gospel in your heart!
The best day ever is going to be on April 13th, when my first grand baby is scheduled to arrive…and I may be there in person to welcome her to this world!
Not having an eating disorder
Congrats!!!
Love it! I think I’d wear it on days my sleep was cut short to encourage optimism. Congratulations on the baby!
Congratulations Jonie! So happy for you!
Congratulations!!!
My best day ever would be coming home to a winning e-mail of some kind (paypal money anyone! LOL) and with the addition of my son having the best day at school with no tantrums of any kind!
Congratulations! So happy for you! My best day ever will be marrying my best friend of 8 years this October!
Yay!! Congrats!!!! Best day ever will be when #2 comes and I get to see both my girls side by side!
So excited for you! Unfortunately too many of us (myself included) understand the pain that comes from miscarriage, so I’m thrilled this pregnancy is going well. Congrats 🙂 My best day ever would probably completing the triathlon I’m preparing for without feeling like I’m going to die 😉
