Costume Idea | Silhouette Promotion
Today I have a really fun costume idea to share with you that I made for Addie. My daughter Addie is pretty dang funny. I found a witch hat at the thrift store several weeks ago and ever since then, she has been wearing the hat around the house saying “ah, ah, ah!” like a witch. I knew that she needed to be a witch for Halloween, but it needed to be something that would come together really quickly since I didn’t have a ton of time to spend making a costume. Another factor to consider is that I wanted to paint her face but she is a “picker” and I was afraid that the paint wouldn’t last long at all if I tried. I had an ah ha! moment where things just fell into place for me. Silhouette has all sorts of specialty media items including some tattoo paper which allows you to make your own fake tattoo designs. I will tell you all about the fun details that you can do with the paper, and later in another post, I will show you how to make the cute witches outfit that she is wearing. It is super simple and easy to make!
I love this picture of Addie admiring her glitter glue wart on her nose along with her spooky spider tattoo on her face. Her lips kill me!
The tattoo paper is really so easy to use! All you have to do is choose the designs from the Silhouette store that you would like to make into tattoos and then make them the colors that you would like. Once that is done, you send the image to your printer. After it has printed, you run the paper you printed through your Silhouette machine and it will cut out the designs for you. Easy peasy!
My girls were so excited to try these out! Lillie, my oldest, was especially excited and called her tattoos her cutie marks. It was the cutest ever. Do you see how the tattoo is the perfect alternative to face paint? It goes on in 15 seconds and then doesn’t come off until you want it to!! I am thinking it would be cool to do even more intricate designs and do a mask of some kind. The simple spider and a glitter wart were all I decided to do on Addie’s face. (I like to keep things simple) She did want a spider on one hand and a pumpkin on the other though and I was happy to oblige.
If you want to get your hands on this tattoo paper (and I think that you do) there is a special promotion for it going on right now so that you can take 30% off of all specialty media!
