Neighbor Gifts | Happy “Root Beer” Printable
I have a special treat lined up for you this week! I am teaming up with Holly from Bits of Everything to bring you gift ideas all week long! When I was in High School, I originally thought of this idea and gave it to a few of my friends. I thought I would share it because it was a lot of fun, and inexpensive to boot! There have been a lot of different sayings that you can use on tags that I’ve seen over the years where it is a play on words. I think they are delightful. I went with “We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Root Beer”. See what I did there. Root Beer instead of New Year? Yep, I am a nerd. But I think it is funny and clever. Hopefully you do too.
The idea of making the root beer bottles into reindeer is a fun one too. It is really so simple and inexpensive to do, and it adds a lot to the gift. You will need brown pipe cleaners and a red pom for the nose. It is probably pretty straight forward how to make the antlers, but in case you need a visual for how I did it, here you go. Start by twisting the pipe cleaner around the top of the bottle. Then make a bend in the pipe cleaner about one inch from the jar lid. Take the end of the pipe cleaner and bend it into a heart shape and then make the pipe cleaner stand up to look like antlers. Super easy and fun!
I thought I would make a cute tag that I could share with all of you. I made it in a set of three colors. After I printed the tags using my printer, I cut them out, punched holes in the top and used raffia to tie it to the box of root beer.
