DIY Glow in the Dark Ringtoss
Jesseca and I decided that we needed to have a fun activity for our party that was both easy and fun for the kids. I suggested that we do a ring toss, and got to work. The result was this AMAZING-ly cool glow in the dark ring toss.
It is really so easy to put together and makes a big impact. My daughter loved it so much that she played until bed time and then brought it to bed with her! Who doesn’t love glow sticks though? This took me approximately 5-10 minutes to make.
Supplies:
- 4X4 piece of wood cut to be 15 inches long
- wooden dowel size 3/8″
- drill & 3/8″ drill bit
- glow sticks
- small rubber bands (I used my daughter’s hair elastics and they worked great!
To begin, cut your dowels to whatever size you would like. I wanted to have varied heights, so I cut my pieces pretty randomly. After they are cut, drill holes into your 4X4 piece of wood. You want to make sure that you drill the hole to be at least an inch and a half so that the dowel is supported and won’t fall out when the rings are flying at it. You can go deeper if you want to. The very last step is to break your glow sticks so that they glow and then tie them onto the dowels using your rubber bands. I used one rubber band at the top and one at the bottom and it worked great! Make your rings by connecting two glow sticks together and you are ready for action!
Isn’t this so fun?! It would definitely be something to remember at a family get together because the kids really LOVE it!
Are you getting excited for tomorrow and the big reveal of our food table at the party?! It was so fun and the perfect mix of simple and memorable. You won’t want to miss it. If you have missed any of the other posts, you can find them in the links below. Also, be sure to go check out Jesseca’s sparkling berry tea that she brought to the party. If you like sweet tea, you are in luck because she is giving away a CASE of it! Go check it out!
How Fun! Pinning!
This is such a great idea!
What a fun idea! I have some glow-in-the-dark sticks I picked up in the £1 shop recently. I will definitely be trying making this activity for the children soon! Mel
