Valentines Mailboxes & Robot Valentine
I have two different projects to show you today. First, I wanted a different kind of way to show my family that I love them and I thought these mailboxes would be a great way to do that. Every day between now and Valentine’s day, I have different treats to put into the mailboxes. Some of them are edible, and some of them are just little prizes or toys. Nothing too major, and really it is so fun to come up with the ideas for the cutest Valentines.
I have my mailboxes on a table behind my couch that you see as soon as you walk down the stairs. Everyone has one with their name on it. I just personalized Target dollar spot mailboxes with my silhouette machine and vinyl.
My favorite part is the vinyl I did on the sides of each of them.
Here is another view of the vinyl. You could acheive the same look with stickers or mod podged paper too. The possibilities are endless really.
Second, these robot valentines are so fun! My girls thought they were a blast! All you need to be able to make them is Hi-C juice boxes, or any kind of juice boxes. You’ll also need starbursts, nerds, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes. I used hot glue to put them all together.
I love these little guys. I made each one of them a little different.
The best part is that they fit perfectly into the mailboxes with just their feet hanging out.
Tune in again because I have 14 days worth of Valentines to show you. Hopefully I can get the pictures taken without my daughter and husband seeing the rest of the Valentines. It’s tricky to keep it a secret. Believe me!
I know what you mean, but at least I’m not trying hide it from the hubby- that would mean NEVER getting anything done. 😉
Those robots turned out DARLING! Love them.
xoxo
these are just so cute! what did you use to hold everything together?!
I just used a little dab of hot glue and it worked like a charm. Good luck!
I’d like to know how they’re all held together as well! Super cute!
Hi Jacquie,
I just used hot glue to hold them all together. A little dab works like a charm. Hope that helps!
Thanks for reading!
Jonie
Did the hot glue melt the candies?
Shannon, thanks for your question! I didn’t have any problems with the hot glue melting anything. A little dab of glue is all it took.
A teacher I follow on Facebook posted a link to someone’s Pin of your ideas, and these robots are just ADORABLE! I’m making th for my daughter to give her little daycare friends. Thanks!
How did you do the little hearts at the end of the robots arms..
Christina- The arms are pipe cleaners, so I just twisted them to make the hearts. Hope that helps!
HEY I LOVE THESE ROBOTS ,THEY WOULD BE GREAT FOR MY KIDS VALENTINES PARTY AT THEIR SCHOOL. I have one question, if I don’t have hot glue what else would you recommend to hold everything together?
Kimberly, My first recommendation is to go pick up a hot glue gun from walmart. You’ll spend about $10 for a mini glue gun. If that isn’t an option, you can use any kind of scrapbook adhesive or tacky glue, it is just going to take you longer while you wait for the pieces to dry. Good luck!
